Gorgo

After birth, Gorgo and his siblings were left behind at a clinic simply because they weren’t full-breed dogs. But his story took a bright turn when he was adopted into a loving home by his two dads, Berkutay and Rıfat.

Gorgo spent the first three years of his life living between Nişantaşı and Büyükada. Those early years were packed with adventure: hanging out with his gang in Maçka Park, chasing horses off-leash across the island, and diving straight into the cold waters of the Marmara.

Later, Gorgo packed his bags and moved to Berlin with Berkutay and Rıfat. After four memorable years of city life there, the family made their next big move to Amsterdam, where Gorgo resides today.

Now a true local, Gorgo spends his days taking early morning walks in Flevopark and Vondelpark, never missing a chance to plunge into the city's small ponds in every season. The water might not be the sea, but the pure excitement on his face is the exact same expression he had when he first jumped into the Marmara back in Büyükada.

Gorgo has even inspired a piece of home in his new city: his very own spot, Gorgo Lunchroom. Serving up toasties and Anatolian classics, it brings the cozy charm of the small toastie büfes of Büyükada right to the heart of Amsterdam. Berkutay and Rıfat both agree that welcoming Gorgo into their lives was the best decision they ever made!
