Luna found injured in Çeşme
Luna
Seven years ago, Luna was found wandering the streets of Çeşme. Her previous owners had abandoned her — probably because she became too active at six months old. Sadly, this happens far too often in Turkey.
When Pets in Turkey found her, she was injured after being attacked by other dogs. They cared for her with incredible dedication. Around that time, we had decided to adopt a dog from Turkey, and Sibel Akın from Pets in Turkey and Didem from Dog Walking Services NL was amazingly supportive throughout the process.
We wanted a loving family dog, and the moment we saw Luna’s photos and videos, we fell in love. After spending a couple of months in a foster home — while we were moving from Germany to the Netherlands — she finally came to us. We met her for the first time at Schiphol Airport.
Gentle, sweet Luna

She pulled like crazy on the leash that day, but she was so gentle and good-natured. As we worked on her leash training, we spoiled her in every other way.
Playful, affectionate, and endlessly loving, Luna has been a blessing in our lives Our neighbors adore her and even volunteer to take care of her when we travel. She loves long walks and playing on the beach here in The Hague.
When our son was born, Luna instantly became the best big sister we could imagine. Now that our son is three years old, they’re inseparable — playing together and sharing their fruit snacks.
Adopting Luna was truly one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
