Puppy Nana rescued by adopt.nl
Nana
Nana’s story began on the streets of Turkey, where she was found as a puppy and rescued by adopt.nl. She spent the next five years in a shelter, growing up in an environment where bikes, cars, and everyday noises were all unfamiliar. This left her a very timid, cautious dog, uncertain about the world around her.
That all started to change in January, when she met her foster parents, Katia and Luca – two incredibly kind souls who began teaching her that people, including men, can be trusted.
When we first saw Nana online, we instantly knew she was the one. We drove from Belgium to Amsterdam to meet her and her wonderful foster parents for a walk. Of course, Nana was scared and kept her distance, but we felt a connection. We just knew.
There were other families interested, but we were the lucky ones chosen to be her forever home. Those first days were tough – earning her trust was a slow, careful process, but it was so worth it.

Two months in, Nana has come so far. She follows me everywhere, always looking for a little bit of closeness, and while we’re still working through some of her fears, the progress she’s made is incredible.
The bond we share is deep and special – the kind that only comes from helping a scared little soul learn to feel safe and loved. She truly is the sweetest little girl. 💛
