Phoebe was a bit bigger than the size of a hand when she joined our family. At first, she was living with Hakan. Melda was living with her furry cat friend, George. In the future, Phoebe would become George’s special annoyer, but not just yet.
Melda saw Phoebe and her brothers in an Instagram post and shared it with Hakan. The puppies had been found in the trash and were ready to start their new lives. They both went to meet the family. Phoebe was the tiniest one, and they immediately knew she was coming home with them.
At first, Phoebe did not respond to any sound and even acted like she couldn’t see very well. After a vet visit, they said she might be deaf, but it turned out she could hear everything just fine.
Phoebe had an adventurous start. She overcame a sickness that worried both Melda and Hakan. After a few months, when Hakan moved in with Melda, Phoebe also became roommates with Melda’s cat, George.
In the end, a human baby also joined the family. He looked very different from George and Phoebe, but they were intrigued by this little human baby.

Sunbathing
By being relentless and never giving up, Phoebe eventually managed to make George love (or at least tolerate) her. They shared the same house until George was no longer with them. Until then, they learned to share the best sunny spots together and even Phoebe’s big bed.
Phoebe became human baby Deniz’s biggest toy. Even though she wasn’t very happy about it, she never complained until she got old.
After five years in Turkey, the family moved to the Netherlands, leaving Phoebe in Turkey until they found a house. With the help of Melda’s mother, after a few months Phoebe joined the family and now lives in Amsterdam.
She might be afraid of the wind, her own farts, and pretty much everything that exists, but she loves her morning walks in the park. Her new addiction is going around the city in the bakfiets with her head hanging out of the basket.
Over the years, she has become a little old grandma who still looks and acts like a puppy. Now she is very demanding when it comes to petting and treats, and she keeps track of every free moment for some belly rubs.
