Séamus was born with his 5 siblings to his mother Sunny, who had been rescued by Defne, while pregnant. Defne and Sunny raised and took care of all 6 pups until they were ready for adoption.

After some difficult adoption attempts, a stint on the street as a young dog and second rescue from Sarp and Defne, he waited to be adopted. 

Gökçe stumbled on Sarp’s and Çakbipati’s post trying to find a home for Séamus (then Leo). As soon as she and her partner Charlie saw his handsome smiley face, they knew he was a part of the family and they needed to get him home. Sarp, Defne, Hande and Dilek all worked extremely hard to make sure he was safe and ready to come to Canada. 

The first time they saw Séamus’s face, he was looking up through the door on his (very spacious) flight crate. His head was down and his ears were back but his eyes were looking right at Charlie and Gökçe. It was clear he was full of love but wasn’t sure who to trust just yet. He got his post flight meal, did the world's biggest pee on a huge, indoor concrete airport pole and they were a family. He was scared and tried to run when the car door opened but was quickly convinced with a liver treat, something that works to this day.
